What we collect

An account email and the conversations you choose to have with Solace. Memory is on by default so Solace can remember you. You can turn it off or delete it anytime from your profile.

How we use it

Only to provide the service to you: replying to your messages, generating voice responses, and surfacing your reflections when you return. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your conversations to train third-party models.

Who else handles your data

To run Solace, a few trusted providers process your data on our behalf, only to deliver the service: the AI providers that generate Solace's replies and voice (such as OpenAI and Anthropic), our payment processors (Stripe, and Apple or Google for in-app purchases), and our hosting and sign-in providers. They act only on our instructions, under contract, and cannot use your conversations for their own purposes. We never sell your data, and we don't use your conversations to train third-party models.

Your control

You can export or erase your data at any time from your profile. Deletion is permanent and removes the conversation from our systems.

How long we keep it

We keep your account details and conversations only for as long as your account is open, so Solace can remember you and be there when you return. You can delete individual conversations, turn memory off, or erase everything from your profile at any time. When you delete your data or close your account, it is permanently removed from our live systems within 30 days, and from our encrypted backups within a further 90 days. We keep only the minimum records the law requires — for example, basic payment records — for as long as we are legally required to, and nothing more.

Safety

Solace is an AI companion — not a therapist, doctor, or crisis service. If you're in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line such as the Samaritans on 116 123 (UK) or your local equivalent.

Younger users (16–17)

Solace is for people aged 16 and older. For accounts registered as 16 or 17, we apply higher-privacy defaults: cross-session memory is off unless the young person turns it on from their profile. We remind users that Solace is an AI companion, not a therapist or crisis service, and we signpost emergency services and a crisis line (Samaritans 116 123 in the UK, or the local equivalent) throughout the app.
